My Information
Q: How does the information get into the VeriDrive (MediVault device)?
A: For the general health information, you enter it through the use of a wizard which guides you thought the intake questions. This is very similar to the questions found on a doctor’s intake sheet. You can update it as needed should your health information change.
For the storage of reports and records- Our patent-pending process allow us to generate a specific 800 number and email that is solely yours. By law, a patient is entitled to their own health records. MediVault provides you with new fax number, email address, and the necessary HIPAA release form. When you or your doctor fax a copy of your report, it will automatically be digitized and held in a secure folder, waiting for you to connect the VeriDrive. Once you connect the drive, it seeks the folder, verifies your identity, and the check-in process is started. More advanced users may opt to drop records directly from a scanner, or CD drive into the pre-designated folder which will also start the check-in process. Automatically update records and be notified when the update occurs. If not you know to call and request it be sent again.
Q: What if I lose the VeriDrive, can people see my records:
A: If you lose your VeriDrive, the only information which can be accessed is the emergency records. This information is the same that may be held on a wallet card. You may chose how much or how little information you want to share for the emergency information. The other information is secured three ways; first on the program level, second by password, and third by encryption.
Q: Ok, if my drive is lost, do I need to start entering my information from scratch?
A: No, if you report your VeriDrive lost, you can purchase a new drive which we can key to your account. Once this occurs, your back-up data is loaded to the drive and you can continue on uninterrupted.
Q: If I have a new MediVault email and fax number can I use it for other things
A: Of course, we designed a tool which will help you manage information. As an example, if you have a distant relative who wants to send you a newspaper clipping or pictures, they can. When the VeriDrive detects a new file and the check-in process is started you can decide whether to save or delete the file after viewing. In short, any type of file placed in the secure digital folder will be localized to the portable drive.
Q: Is MediVault HIPAA compliant?
A: MediVault is designed in a way that we are providing a tool to better manage your health records. Nothing in the patent-pending process disrupts HIPAA standards. The service is not recognized by HIPAA statutes but has been designed with the utmost concern for your privacy. Should the standards be changed, MediVault can adapt to the changes and update security and application features remotely to your VeriDrive.
Q: How does my Doctor see my records?
A: Prior to the appointment you can print the pre-visit pack which would contain all pertinent health data in summary format and any records that you select (blood work, test reports, etc.). When you attend the appointment, simply clip the information to the clip board which is normally placed outside your door. Should the doctor need other information, you can allow access over any PC running Windows XP and direct them to the scans, tests, etc. MediVault is currently working to implement a Doctor check-in process which allows participating doctors to place a kiosk in the waiting room to allow patients to self check-in. It’s like a "speed pass" for the doctor's office, avoiding hand written intake forms and saving the staff valuable time.
Q: Do I need a specific type of computer or operating system:
A: The current VeriDrive works on a Windows XP platform. Windows XP is five years old and is currently found on the majority of desktops. We are currently configuring the VeriDrive work on other operating systems. Your data will also soon be available via a secure web portal; this means you can utilize MediVault on a Palm Pilot, MAC, or any computer with a web connection. In the future, your information will also be available by phone.

Also, if certain forms are required for FEMA or insurance claims, we can populate those forms with your information for faster submission and claims management. You may also wish to store images of government checks or other important documents, which will help to keep your payments uninterrupted and further prove your identity.
General Questions:
Q: I’ve heard that the government wants to implement electronic records, maybe I should wait until then?
A: First, In order to have electronic medical records under the national plan, it would require standardization of all medical reporting, a monumental task. MediVault can be of service immediately since your secure digital folder can accommodate all file formats. If a national standardized record is made mandatory, we will include those reports localized to your file. Second, electronic records are only one-tenth of the solution. What about preparing the patient for their appointment with pre-visit tools, informing and education them with regard to their condition through trusted content, arranging for better pricing on their needed supplies, providing sources to help them handle the financial burden, and connecting them with resources and 2nd opinions? Plus MediVault can also assist in the event of a missing person or child abduction.
Imagine a state run internet service, one where all of your information was accessible, monitored, tracked, and forecasted. We at MediVault understand that electronic health records save lives; but with advancements in genetics, are you really supportive of a system that would clearly define which members of society are predisposed to genetic ailments? Privatizing these services takes the information management and puts it in your control.
Q: Is this really that important:
A: Quite simply, it’s a matter of life and death; this year people will die because they didn’t provide the medical information needed to establish the best plan of care. Aside from that primary issue, MediVault can simply make your life easier and is dedicated to continually serving its members. MEDIVAULT- Saves Time and Saves Lives!
